COCHON BLEU

Cochon Bleu ( Blue Pig ) is a Cajun & Zydeco band from Groningen
Holland.
The musicians recorded their first CD Changez Les Guitares in
1996, giving a good
idea of the energetic live band they had become.
The band created an own interpretation of the cajun-sound, with
three lead-singers and the violin replaced by the singing solo-guitar.
As their live reputation precedes them, they get
prestigious gigs at cajun-and roots festivals.
In 1998 Cochon Bleu released the mini-album Go Feed The
Chickens.
With its raw sound the music sounds as if it is
invented at the spot.
At the famous Oerol-festival ( on the island of
Terschelling, Holland ) the band proves itself an outstanding street-act, giving
the sound of the band a new dimension.
During a stay in Portugal they add more
songs to their repertoire, including some own compositions.
Back
home they put this improvement on their third album Relooké.
With the release of their new albums
Eau ( 2003 ) and It's All Coming Good ( 2006 ) , there are now
3 lead singers, the curious saw-bass-accordeon is invented,
and with the addition of the mandolin their music is widely appreciated.
Traditional French-American songs are now
mixed with originals that will swing even in the freezing cold.
Press reviews mention'.... exceptional
inventive arrangements. Without sounding artificial they manage to give an
original swing to almost all of the songs. ( OOR )' to
'Working from a original point of view, the mandolin and
guitar taking over the role of the violin, all songs are fascinating.
